Random Image The Kansas Masonic Home was founded in September, 1896 through the united efforts of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (A.F. & A.M.) of Kansas and the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Kansas.

It was first established to provide basic clothing, food, shelter and health care for less fortunate men, women and children. The Spanish-styled Administration building designed by Edward L. Tilton, one of the most noted architects of New York at that time, was dedicated in February, 1919 and named a historical landmark in 1979. This building and the Eastern Star Chapel which was built in 1906 are the oldest structures on the 18 acre complex.
